Richard Decker, CIMA®

Richard has been a dedicated financial consultant since 2000, joining Wealth Management at Hudson Valley Credit Union (HVCU) in 2020, covering the Hyde Park and Highland Branches. With over two decades of experience in the financial industry, Richard is committed to advocating for his clients' well-being as they navigate the intricate landscape of investment risk. His approach emphasizes growth and income strategies while focusing on passing assets in the most tax-advantaged manner. To equip himself with the knowledge and tools to serve his clients effectively, Richard earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation from the prestigious Wharton School of Business in 2005. 

Originally from Poughkeepsie, Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from SUNY New Paltz, graduating Summa Cum Laude. In his personal life, Richard enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three children. His passions also extend to traveling, fishing, and exploring culinary experiences as an avid foodie.  

Motivated by a desire to develop a client-centric practice, Richard has made it his mission to always prioritize the personal interests of those he serves. He finds profound satisfaction in helping clients make crucial financial decisions and takes pride in educating them on issues that may threaten their financial health and personal resources.
