Ray’s Why?:
“Years ago, I had a colleague who was both an experienced banker and traveler. I remember hearing his banking knowledge while talking with members and telling stories of all his travels. A couple of years ago, he requested a meeting with me, to which I was very happy to accept. When we met, he explained to me that he was looking to retire and wanted to make sure he could live comfortably and travel the world without running out of money. We looked at his assets, current/future income and expenses. I was able to create a financial plan that gave him the confidence to retire so within the blink of an eye he went from being a colleague to a client. About a year after his retirement, he wanted to take a once-in-a-lifetime, 9-month cruise around the world. Leading up to his vacation we made sure all his accounts were in good order and even assigned a POA in case anything should arise while he was away. After he set sail, he sent me multiple emails detailing the wonderful parts of his trip around the world. This is “my why.” It feels great being able to help someone navigate their retirement and vacation dreams.
